Sundance Mountain Resort

A ski resort was founded at the base of the iconic Mount Timpanogos in 1944, under the name of 'Timp Haven'. It was popular with locals and hosted BYU's ski classes. In 1968, Robert Redford purchased the resort and renamed it 'Sundance', a nod to one of his most famous roles. Redford expanded the resort, and hosted the first edition of the now famous Sundance Film Festival there.

In 2021, a group of independent investors purchased the resort from Redford. Since then, they have added three new chairlifts, opening a lot more terrain, and have built a world-class lodge at the base of the mountain. The lodge includes three excellent restaurants, including the 'Owl Bar', an 1890's saloon popular with Butch Cassidy and his crew, which Redford relocated from Wyoming.

The resort maintains the 'old western' charm and character that Redford instilled, and is one of the only independent resorts where you can ski Utah's famously dry snow without lining the pockets of the North American ski industry's corporate mega-conglomerates.

CM Goes to Sundance

The CM Ski Camp at Sundance offers all the best elements of our overseas trips, combined with the high-level coaching you are used to in Aspen (they have kindly invited us to bring all our best coaches), right in your own backyard.

The expanded terrain at Sundance has everything we need: long groomers for practicing the keys, introductory bumps, and advanced off-piste terrain. Our coaches were particularly impressed with the expansive selection of moderate black bump runs, so if that is you're groove, this is your camp!

As well as excellent skiing and coaching, the camp offers the social and cultural elements that people love about our international trips. With everyone staying at the same resort and enjoying meals at the same restaurants, there are plenty of opportunities to get to know other skiers and the coaches. There will also be plenty of apres-ski activities, including an opening party and closing dinner, and cool experiences offered by the hotel
